Because of the area’s unique topography, you’ll have the opportunity to walk along some of the most amazing mountain trails and picnic on the shores of the lake during the summer.

Walking & Tramping

With the mountains in the background, the beautiful rivers flowing through the area, and the blue lake below, enjoy the fresh air and hike, explore a few DOC (Department of Conservation) walking trails or just ramble about the station and the surrounding mountain peaks.

River or lake fishing. You’ll find rainbow trout, brown trout and land locked chinook salmon in our rivers and brook trout in the lagoon—a ten minute walk from The Quarters (reminder to bring your fishing license).

The iconic NZ mountain biking race, the Contact Epic, passes through Dingleburn Station. Follow the 30km track or journey through the DOC cycling trails and other station tracks. Bike rentals can be arranged with prior notice.
