Guided Farm Experience

Get stuck in and experience what happens daily on a high country station. The type of activities can include high country mustering, a 4WD drive to check on the sheep and/or cattle, feeding animals, wool shed tour, watching the dogs work sheep, and more.

Walking & Tramping

With the mountains in the background, the beautiful rivers flowing through the area, and the blue lake below, enjoy the fresh air and explore our walking trails.

Fishing

River and lakeshore fishing. You’ll find rainbow trout, brown trout and landlocked chinook salmon in our rivers —a ten-minute walk from The Quarters. As part of your stay, you’ll have access to the Hunter River, the Dingle Burn, Timaru Creek, as well as the Silver Island Lagoon.

Please note: Hunter River is only accessible in a 4WD truck. Please enquire with us prior to your arrival (additional costs will apply.)

Mountain Biking

Explore the stunning terrain of Dingleburn Station by mountain bike. Follow the 30km station track or venture further through DOC cycling trails and additional station routes.

We recommend bringing your own bike(s), but rentals can be arranged with prior notice. E-bikes can be charged at the Quarters accommodation.

Relaxing

Bring along a book and set yourself up on the lake shore, or find a cosy spot on the flats and let your mind wander as you take in the quiet wonder of this region.

Packrafting

Walk up one of the trails along the rivers and packraft back down. A wonderful way to enjoy the scenery by water and by land. Life jackets must be worn at all times.
