Stay at Dingleburn
A stay at Dingleburn is not about checking into accommodation. It is about stepping into a world few get to see.
By day, you can explore rivers, trails, lake edges and station country. By evening, return to simple comfort, hearty food, and the kind of quiet only a remote high-country station can offer.
We offer seasonal ways to stay, but every option shares the same thing: rare access to an extraordinary place.
A fully hosted experience, guests experience Dingleburn at its most immersive, with catering, transport and time on the station woven into the stay.
A wilder, more independent experience, the quarters become a more independent base for groups wanting to experience the remoteness and freedom of this landscape in their own way.

A fully hosted high-country experience
This season is the best way to experience Dingleburn. From the moment you arrive, everything is designed to make it easy to settle into station life and the rhythms of this place.
Expect thoughtful hosting, generous meals, access to the land, and the chance to experience our landscapes with comfort and authenticity.
The journey in
Getting here is part of the experience. The road is narrow, dramatic and unforgettable, winding into one of the South Island’s most remarkable hidden landscapes.
During hosted stays, we bring guests in by 4WD from Lake Hāwea, so the experience begins before you even arrive at the quarters.
Honest food, generously shared
Our meals are hearty, seasonal and grounded in this part of the world. Think home baking, fresh breakfasts, long lunches, generous dinners, local produce and the kind of easy conversation that comes naturally after a day on the land.
From $750 per person, per night.

A wilder, more independent experience
Outside of our hosted season, Dingleburn takes on a different rhythm. The pace slows, the landscape feels even more expansive, and the experience becomes one of freedom, privacy and space to settle into the station at your own pace.
This is the season for guests who want to unplug, gather their people, and experience the remoteness in a more independent way. The accommodation is simple, comfortable and full of character – a practical base for days spent exploring the land, soaking up the stillness, and enjoying access to one of the South Island’s most remarkable hidden places.
Whether you’re here to walk, fish, reconnect or simply disappear from the noise for a while, off-season stays offer a rare kind of escape: grounded, memorable, and deeply tied to the landscape around you.
$100 per person, per night. Minimum 10 guests.

Your comfortable base on the station

The Shearer’s Quarters
Simple, warm and full of character, the quarters place you right in the atmosphere of the station. Comfortable beds, honest surrounds and a sense of being exactly where you are meant to be. Sleeps 6-16, depending on the season.

As told by others
From the moment we arrived, our experience with Brigie and Nicky at their station was nothing short of magical. Every day felt like a dream. The accommodation was cosy and beautifully kept, and they welcomed us with such warmth that we instantly felt at home.
The station itself is a true slice of paradise. We were free to explore, taking in breathtaking views and immersing ourselves in the incredible natural beauty all around. One of the absolute highlights was witnessing the beautiful animals that roam the property. It's a memory that will stay with us forever.
We're already planning our next visit.

Our group of 20 bikers had a superb stay at Dingleburn. The accommodation was clean and tidy, the food was utterly wonderful and plenty after a huge 50km bike ride across the station.
Very well fuelled up with a huge breakfast, ready for another day's biking. Hot tub under the stars and open fire pit. Thank you Brigie - your warm and welcoming hospitality is world class.

What an experience we had at the Dingleburn Station! From driving into the farm on such a historical road, seeing the gorgeous view of the farm, to joining the crew in moving their sheep to their summer range through the mountains, this trip definitely became the highlight of our NZ travels.
The Mead family welcomed us so nicely and helped us with anything we needed. Brigie is an amazing cook and always feeds us such delicious meals
The accommodation was so clean and nicely laid out that we both felt very comfortable. It’s the kind of place you can just take a deep breath.

We arrived with no idea what to expect, and have been delighted at every turn!
Wonderful hosts, incredible views, new experiences for us all. Difficult to pick out a highlight from a very long list - mustering with the best, swimming in the lake, chilling around the fire pit, Brigie’s home cooking, proper walking trails, and generally enjoying the company of the Mead family.

Thank you for such a beautiful, memorable stay. You opened your home to us, and your cooking, personal touches, and amazing stories really made us feel at home and appreciate the authentic station life.
The fishing was incredible, and we really lucked out on bluebird days and no wind. You live in a paradise, and we were very thankful to share that with you for a few days.
